What is shelter in uncertain times?

In a time of social and political unrest, Asko|Schönberg and artist Boris Acket explore the meaning of shelter. The 2005 oratorio Shelter, written for three sopranos and a large ensemble, is a collaboration between American Bang on a Can composers Michael Gordon, David Lang and Julia Wolfe. The text is by Deborah Artman, who has written for them before.

During the performance of Shelter, the audience is encouraged to explore our human need for a shelter, a safe haven. The setting is an installation by Boris Acket. An introspective, contemporary concert in the lead-up to the holiday season.
