Pop Out

The work of Dutch/Swiss composer, producer and performer Evelien van den Broek (aka Leafsheep) is a quirky and compelling mix of electronics, songwriting and classical composition. Score Collective, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam’s ensemble for new music, performs its own compositions and songs with vocalists and instrumentalists from the conservatory’s Classical, Pop and Jazz departments. 

The Pop Out programme includes a selection of songs from the albums False Memories (2017) and Endlings (2020), which have been specially arranged for this concert by composition students from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. False Memories is a collection of songs about memories of events that never happened. Endlings, which features field recordings, is Van den Broek’s musical response to the biological extinction that mankind is causing.
