Easter: a great source of inspiration for composers / March - April 2025
The dramatic story of Easter is always a great source of inspiration for composers. Not to be missed are Bach’s two famous passions, the St John Passion and the St Matthew Passion. ‘Master of simplicity’ Arvo Pärt composed a 20th-century version of the St John. Through the Path of Miracles by vocal ensemble Tenebrae, you will reach the pilgrimage site of Santiago, while Cantoría takes you to Easter in 16th-century Spain.
