Guided tours
A guided tour gives you the privilege of getting an exclusive look into what happens behind the scenes in one of Europe’s most beautiful concert halls. An enthusiastic guide will tell you all about the history of the Muziekgebouw and its unique architecture.
The endless possibilities of the Grand Hall and its magnificent acoustics will be thoroughly explored. You will get to see places that are normally closed to the public, such as the backstage area, the dressing rooms, the loading dock, and the artists’ green room. And don’t forget to enjoy the beautiful view over the IJ from the Foyer Decks.
The guided tour is in Dutch, starts in the Entrance Hall and lasts over an hour. Every tour is different, depending on what is going on in the building at that time. Please note that the tour involves a lot of walking. For those in wheelchairs, almost everything is accessible by elevator.
Combine with a concert
• A guided tour on Thursday or Friday can be perfectly combined with the lunch concert in the Grand Hall (‘Grote Zaal’). The tour starts at 10:45 a.m., the concert at 12:30 p.m. With the ticket for the tour, you get free admission to the concert (normally €6).
• The tours on Sundays are almost always preceded by an organ concert in the Small Hall (‘Kleine Zaal’). The concert starts at 11 a.m., the guided tour at 1 p.m. You need to buy a separate ticket for the organ concerts.
