Efterklang + Kristín Anna

Sprookjesachtig, dromerig, stekelig en majesteus: de Deense band Efterklang maakt popmuziek zoals alleen Noorderlingen dat kunnen. De avontuurlijke musici zitten nooit stil en hun geluid veranderde in hun ruim 15-jarige bestaan dan ook voortdurend. Na een lange periode van artistieke herbezinning is de band terug met het Deenstalige nieuwe album Altid Sammen en een nieuwe tour.

Zeven jaar gingen voorbij sinds hun vorige, bijna symfonisch klinkende album Piramida. In die tijd richtten de drie kernleden van Efterklang met percussionist Tatu Rönkkö de nieuwe band Liima op, voor spontane, semi-geïmproviseerde synthpop, en maakten ze de opera LEAVES: The Colour Of Falling met componist Karsten Fundal. Een samenwerking met het Vlaamse barokensemble B.O.X. leidde tot nieuw Efterklang-materiaal, dat de band samen met het ensemble én een grote reeks gastmuzikanten vormgaf tot, paradoxaal genoeg, het intiemste en meest persoonlijke album van de band tot op heden. Een glorieuze hergeboorte voor één van de intrigerendste popacts van de laatste decennia.

Danish experimental fairytale pop

Fairylike, dreamy, spiky and majestic: the Danish band Efterklang makes pop music as only people from the North can. The adventurous musicians never sit still and their sound has constantly changed in their 15+ years of existence. After a long period of artistic reinvention, the band is back with the new album Altid Sammen - sung in Danish - and a new tour.

Seven years have passed since their previous, almost symphonic sounding album Piramida. In the meantime, the three core members of Efterklang founded the new band Liima with percussionist Tatu Rönkkö, making spontaneous, semi-improvised synthpop, and with composer Karsten Fundal they made the opera LEAVES: The Colour Of Falling. A collaboration with the Flemish baroque ensemble B.O.X. led to new Efterklang material, that the band, together with the ensemble and a wide range of other guest musicians, turned into, paradoxically, their most intimate and personal album to date. A glorious rebirth for one of the most intriguing pop acts of the last decade.
