During her career, Kaija Saariaho has worked with several important musicians, conductors and directors. They were essential in the development and performance of her oeuvre. During the Saariaho Festival, four masterclasses will highlight these special relationships.
Finnish cellist Annsi Karttunen has been friends with Kaija Saariaho since the 1980s. Since then, she has involved him in all her cello works. Her work Sept Papillons for cello solo is central to this masterclass.
In this masterclass, Anssi Karttunen shares his knowledge and skills with young and aspiring conservatory students. Experience it up close.
