Dark fairy tale with quirky and comical music

Imagine you have no hands. How would you pick your nose? How are you supposed to eat with fork and knife or beat the drum? The girl without hands is, indeed, about a girl without hands. And worst of all, this is the fault of her father, who has made a deal with the devil. Actress Daantje Idelenburg will keep you on the edge of your seat with this thrilling tale. The suspense is heightened by the electrifying music of Ensemble Klang. And it all starts in the Entrance Hall of the Muziekgebouw.

The girl without hands is based on a dark fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. American composer Steven Mackey, a Grammy Award winner, wrote new music especially for this performance. Adventurous, yet also enchanting music. Thanks to guide Daantje, you will not only find out what happens to the poor girl but also experience the incredible sounds Ensemble Klang creates with saxophones, trombone, electric guitar, piano and percussion.
