Captivating crossover for four cellos

The cellists of the Metropole Orchestra form a quartet together: Metrocelli. In 2021, they released an album of the same name, featuring a wide range of pieces: from the Buena Vista Social Club to Nirvana. After all, the four cellists are specialists in crossover. With a generous dose of creativity and improvisation, the quartet performs classics from dance, pop and light classical music, including some gems from the Metropole repertoire. The arrangements are their own unique creations.

In keeping with the Metropole Orchestra’s tradition, the cello group presents a versatile sound. Joel Siepmann, Emile Visser, Annie Tångberg and Jascha Albracht share a broad taste in music, extensive expertise, and a keen ear for catchy tunes. In addition to songs from the album, they play a number of their own pieces and new arrangements.
