Saxophonist Deborah Witteveen and bassoonist Thomas Dulfer are as different as night and day, both in their music and their personalities. Extraverted versus introverted, emotional versus contemplative. What they have in common is their awe-inspiring talent. Tonight, through their diverse repertoire, from baroque to brand new compositions, Dulfer and Witteveen explore the Zeitgeist. They challenge and complement each other in a surprising and open-hearted concert.
Dulfer and Witteveen have been a duo since 2017 and two years ago they were finalists in the prestigious Dutch Classical Talent competition. Both have graduated with honours and are also building successful solo careers. In this programme, they showcase their broad perspective and ask intriguing questions: does it really matter to the audience who the musician is as a person? As a musician, how do you cope with the hustle and bustle of everyday life? What are you afraid of? What do you hope for?
