Gracias a la vida

Once Ana-Carmen Balestra takes the stage, she has the audience captivated and under her spell. A homage to life will be performed this evening by the Dutch-Argentine soprano, accompanied by the brilliant pianist Daan Boertien. Their enchanting musical journey spans the entire emotional spectrum, with a kaleidoscope of songs from various genres and eras. From the works of Franz Schubert, the master of German Lieder, to the passionate compositions of tango maestro Astor Piazzolla.

Ana-Carmen Balestra is a rising star. Her recent solo recital at Wigmore Hall in London, the pinnacle of song culture, is a testament to this. She will join the prestigious National Opera Studio in London as a Young Artist next season. Pianist Daan Boertien has dedicated himself entirely to accompanying singers – a specialized skill in which he excels. The evening concludes with the iconic song Gracias a la vida by Argentine diva Mercedes Sosa, in an arrangement by Ana-Carmen herself.

Bad weather?
In the event of unfavourable weather conditions, the performance will be held indoors in the Entrance Hall, which overlooks the river IJ. 

Keep in mind: the sun can be intense and the wind can be quite strong near the water, so come prepared.
