The exciting final of the YPF European Piano Competition 2025, in which three young pianists will perform with orchestra. The finalists will play one of Beethoven’s five piano concertos or Schumann’s piano concerto with the Phion Orchestra. In addition, they will all play a new commissioned composition for piano solo, composed by Jan-Peter de Graaff. The young pianists will be accompanied by Phion, the orchestra of Gelderland and Overijssel, in the piano concertos. During the jury’s deliberations, the audience will be treated to a performance by pianist Juan Pedro García Oliva, winner of the YPF European Piano Competition 2022.

The jury of the competition is made up of eight luminaries from the piano world: Severin von Eckardstein, Jean Claude vanden Eynden, Edith Fischer, Nino Gvetadze, Ronan O’Hora (chairman), Hannes Minnaar, Malcolm Singer, and Einav Yarden. They will decide who will follow in the footsteps of previous winners such as Hanna Shybayeva, Nino Gvetadze and Thomas Beijer.
