Wiegeling (6-18 months)

With Wiegeling, Frisse Oren pays homage to the lullaby. In a soft, safe environment, a singer, a clarinettist and an oud player embark on a musical journey with the young audience and with each other. The performers and audience are enveloped in a landscape of flowing abstract shapes, colourful lights, and elements that create magical sounds. A feast for all the senses. Sway and doze in pure delight. 

Wiegeling takes inspiration from an Arabic lullaby that lingers in Jaber Fayad’s Syrian childhood memories. There are also echoes of music from all corners of the world and from all eras in Jaber’s work. The sounds ignite your imagination, leaving you with a smile as you envision yourself in faraway lands you may have never set foot in. Parents and kids have their own spots to sit, but crawling around is perfectly fine too.
