Lecture Dr. Mimi Mitchell

Mimi Mitchell is a violinist and musicologist who works all over the world. She studied musicology and violin in the US, came to Amsterdam to study baroque violin with Jaap Schröder, and received her PhD in 2019 from the University of Amsterdam, with a dissertation on The Revival of the Baroque Violin. As a guest musician, she has performed with London Baroque, and on the Renaissance violin with The Parley of Instruments in England. Her musicological research sheds light on many unknown compositions. In this lecture, she discusses the performance practice of English Baroque music.
