Roodhapje (Little Red Riding Food) (7+)

Little Red Riding Hood has to visit grandmother, but she doesn’t feel like it at all. She is intrigued when she encounters the wolf on her journey. She has never met a wolf before, and he speaks so eloquently and touchingly. Almost like a poet! But why does he keep calling her Little Red Riding Food? This cool and swinging opera for children brings the classic fairy tale to life in a whole new way.

Roodhapje is based on the book De wolf die tegen water praatte (‘The wolf who talked to water’) by Imme Dros. In this book, the wolf is the main character, instead of Little Red Riding Hood. Holland Opera, the first real youth opera house in Europe, used it as the basis for a modern interpretation of the fairy tale, with music that combines classical, rock and blues. Due to popular demand, this hit opera from 2016 is returning to the stage once again.
