The world’s best countertenor sings Mozart, Schubert and French mélodie

You may know Philippe Jaroussky as an opera singer. He has shone worldwide in major opera productions by Handel and French Baroque composers. But now he chooses to focus on songs; his absolute favourite songs. Philippe Jaroussky combines angelic high notes with virile strength. He performs beautiful mélodies (songs) from his French homeland and German lieder by the maestros Schubert and Mozart.

Wherever he performs, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York or the Muziekgebouw: always sold out. This time, he sings Schubert’s most beautiful lieder, a few gems by Mozart and a generous selection of French songs by Fauré, Debussy and Reynaldo Hahn. For more than twenty years, pianist Jérôme Ducros has been Philippe Jaroussky’s constant partner in the world of lieder. Together, they create concerts that leave a lasting impression.
