Musical adaptation of the medieval fable about the sly fox

Queen Nobel holds a court day. All the animals complain about the wicked tricks of Reynard the Fox. Bruun the Bear and Tibert the Cat are ordered to go and get Reynard, but he manages to outsmart them every time. Only when his daughter Rosseline wins him over, Reynard appears at court. During the trial, Reynard seems to convince everyone of his innocence with a sublime story. But Reynard has once again underestimated one person: his daughter Rosseline!

Author of children’s books Simon van der Geest, two-time winner of a Gouden Griffel (an important award given to authors of children’s literature in the Netherlands), adapted the centuries-old story of Reynard the Fox especially for this performance. Violinist Oene van Geel wrote beautiful music for it. A large group of actors, including puppeteers and dancers from Duda Paiva Company, musicians from the New European Ensemble and singers from Holland Opera, bring the story to life.
