Polish roots and clear voicing

Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski is back. About five years ago, he last played at the Muziekgebouw, enjoying great success. This time he will be performing beloved works with which he has a strong personal connection. And which perfectly match his greatest strengths: vivid clarity in Bach, his Polish roots in Szymanowski, and his sense of folk music in Bartók. A recital like a resounding self-portrait.

Piotr Anderszewski has been one of the most important pianists of our time for some thirty years. Ever since he walked off stage mid-performance during the semi-final of the Leeds Piano Competition in 1990, because he was not satisfied with his own playing, he is considered an exceptional musician with plenty of personality. Especially when it comes to the works of Bach and his compatriot Szymanowski, Anderszewski has a reputation to uphold.
