Privacy Policy
Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ is committed to providing you with the best possible service. We take your privacy very seriously and handle your data with the utmost care. In doing so, we always comply with the applicable privacy laws and regulations. In this privacy policy, we inform you about the type of data we collect from you, for what purpose, how long we keep this data, and what your rights are.
Good to know: we are working on making it possible for customers to order e-tickets with the submission of minimal personal data. At the moment, however, this is not yet possible. Do you wish to purchase tickets without providing any personal data? If so, please purchase them at our ticket counter.
For what purpose does Muziekgebouw process your personal data?
We use the personal data you provide for the following purposes: to execute the agreement regarding the products or services you purchase from us; to inform you about the products or services you have purchased (via service emails and the like); to conduct audience surveys, customer satisfaction surveys and data analyses; to inform you about the Muziekgebouw’s products and services (via emails, newsletters and brochures, etc.; for customer relationship management); to make it possible for you to use our website (see cookie policy); to comply with the applicable laws and regulations.
What personal data do we process?
We only process data that is necessary to fulfil the above purposes. Examples include information such as your name, address, place of residence and tickets purchased. Which data is required depends on the product or service; for instance a concert or newsletter. If you want an overview of which of your data we store, you can submit a request for inspection (see below).
How do we secure personal data?
In line with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we maintain an adequate and appropriate level of security. We have technical and organisational security measures in place to protect the data you provide from loss or unlawful processing. When you visit our website, this is handled automatically via a secure connection. Electronic payments and your personal data are therefore securely protected. Your personal data in your account on the website and in our checkout system are stored on secure servers which are hosted within the EU and are subject to the GDPR.
Does Muziekgebouw combine personal data?
Not all e-mail newsletters we send out, or online advertisements we post, are of equal interest to everyone. For instance, some people like choral music, while others prefer electronic music. In order to offer information that is relevant to you, we use, among other things, newsletter preferences, which you can specify yourself in your digital Muziekgebouw account. We may also combine data as a result of your purchases. The type of concerts, the frequency of your visits and how you use our website, for instance.
How long do we store personal data?
We do not store your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purpose of processing. If a payment relationship is involved (such as when you buy concert tickets), the retention period is four concert seasons after the end of the last season in which you purchased the product or service from us (a season runs from 1 August to 31 July). After this period, we only use the data anonymously for statistical purposes. If there is no payment relationship and you have only signed up for a newsletter, we will store your data until you unsubscribe.
Will your personal data be shared?
Some concerts are organised in partnership. We will pass on your contact details to the co-organiser of the specific event for which you have purchased tickets. This co-organiser may contact you to provide you with information about the event or to send you promotional offers, and to carry out data analyses and customer satisfaction surveys. We make agreements with the partners in question to ensure optimum security and confidentiality. If you object to this, you can let us know via kassa@muziekgebouw.nl. The partners we share data with are: Holland Festival, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Asko|Schönberg, Cello Biënnale Amsterdam, Dudok aan 't IJ, and Bimhuis.
