Alba Rosa Viëtor – Calefax Composers Competition 2025 Final

The Alba Rosa Viëtor / Calefax Composers Competition offers a stage for emerging composers and reed quintets. Composers from all over the globe, up to the age of – fittingly – 40, are writing new work for reed quintet. The jury, headed by Willem Jeths, will select four works to be performed this evening by Calefax and other leading international reed quintets. 

This is a great opportunity to see various reed quintets in action, and to discover a new generation of composers competing for the grand prize and audience award. Each quintet will perform both their final competition piece and a masterpiece from their existing repertoire. Be prepared to be delighted by the talents of the future!
 
This composition competition is a collaboration between the Alba Rosa Viëtor Composition Competition, the Calefax Composers Competition and Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ.
